SUMMARY: Tiamat and his brothers, a
legion of one hundred half-angels, have orders to send all humans on to their
final judgment. Yet in a moment of weakness, Tiamat risks his life to rescue a
hiker named Kali from the very destruction that he initiated.
Kali, thrust from the surety of her world into the boundless hell of Tiamat’s, must try to find a way to survive in the Earth’s vast, devastated landscape. Plagued by a legion of Nephilim bent on sending her on, she is forced to trust the one being that could prove to be her greatest enemy.

REVIEW:
So I
received this book from the Author as a gift for winning a contest on
facebook. When I received the book I was
thrilled because I had read the blurb. D.H. Nevins was a little worried that I
wouldn’t enjoy her book due to my not liking Dystopians. But while this book is
“technically” a dystopian novel it is so much more than that.
I started reading this book and
immediately got sucked into the story. I fell for Kali immediately, she seemed so
down to earth, so nice and so very young, and she actually reminded me of my
daughters. Then we meet up with him *key sound effects* and all Hell
figuratively and literally breaks loose. Tiamat is a Nephilim sent by god to
destroy all of humanity and send them for their final judgement. *see not a
dystopian simply an end of world because God did it story*…
Um where was I? Oh right, I don’t want
to give away any spoilers because I insist you go get this fabulous book. After
all who can possibly say no to angels and demons? Oh didn’t I mention there is
a demon? There is! And the twists that this book takes are going to make you
stay up late into the wee hours of the morning reading to find out what happens
next. I know I stayed up until 1 in the morning just to get to the end and then
nearly cry because it was over. But I know book 2 will be out early next year
and I’ll be first in line to grab that so I can continue on this wonderful
Journey with Kali.
Before I forget, the character
creation in this book is great. Kali is likeable and quite a strongly written
female and Tiamat is so turned around because of his feelings for Kali that you
almost laugh at his stupidity, but in a good way. There are supporting
characters as well in the form of other Nephilim and the Demon but while they
are critical to the flow of the story they really don’t matter but even those
were well written and we got such a strong feeling for some of them that it
showed the amount of time this author spent creating this book.
The plot was fabulous and the ending
was… not over yet I’m afraid since there are more books to come from this
author. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Paranormal and
especially anyone who loves angel stories or in this case “end of days”
stories.
Thank you D.H. Nevins for this
fabulous gift of entertainment you have provided me with and I hope to see more
from you in the very near future.
What a wonderful review. I also loved this story! It is one of my all time favorite books. I was so stunned by it. I see you had to do some teasing also. It's hard not to tell more about it. I want people to read this great book! Danielle is very talented.

Laura, you're always finding a way to brighten my day yet a little more. Thank you for being so awesome. Always. :)
DeleteThank you for this fabulous review, Chris! It's an understatement to say that I'm thrilled you liked the story so much. After reading an earlier post you had written where you stated you weren't really a fan of dystopian fiction, I thought, "There's no way Christina's going to like Wormwood. It's so DARK!" Thank you a million times over for proving me wrong. Yes, I may have egg on my face, but dammit, it feels so good, I'll never take it off. Yes, I will wear this wonderful egginess proudly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 1) For reading Wormwood, 2) for loving it (of course!!), and 3) for taking the time to write such a thoughtful, detailed review.
ReplyDelete:) Thank you for letting me enjoy your story. As always my reviews are honest and come from my own feelings from the story. I'm glad you've got egg on your face... :) At least it was a good type of egg and not an old rotten one... :)
